Sony Pictures has released a final trailer for the anticipated “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” the sequel to 2021’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” which made $200 million worldwide from a $75 million budget.
Gil Kenan helms the new entry – taking over from Jason Reitman who remains onboard as a producer and co-writer with Kenan and Jason Blumenfeld.
The new film sees the Spengler family deciding to leave Oklahoma and go back to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse.
There they help the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab, to take busting ghosts to the next level. When the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters, new and old, must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.
Mckenna Grace, Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard and Carrie Coon are returning after making their debuts in ‘Afterlife’, as are the three original surviving Ghostbusters played by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson.
Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, James Acaster and Emily Alyn Lind also star, whilst Annie Potts is back as Janine Melnitz, and William Atherton returns as Walter Peck.“Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” opens in cinemas on March 22nd.
